Getting things done right is key for third baseman, Oscar Sigala.

The 5’11” former Socorro high school athlete is off to a good start in his second season with the Tejanos.
Sigala said he hopes to improve on his defensive ability from the past season, trying to extend his diving range to go further for the ball.
Offensively, Sigala said he wants to improve on his 24 RBI’s from last season.
This past weekend the Tejanos won one game out the four in the series versus South Mountain. The Tejanos’ overall record now stands at 5-5 (.500) for the season.
They will travel to Henderson, Nevada this weekend on a four-game road trip and head back home to play Eastern Arizona on Feb 23.
Sigala’s motivation for playing the game, according to him, is his father.
“By watching him play the game, it helped me keep playing the game.”
Sigala also gives credit to the other players for playing well on the field.
“We are a team. A baseball player is a baseball player.
We just need to trust everyone we play with,” he said.
Sigala said he dreams of playing professionally.
His plans, if the big leagues don’t come knocking, are to become a border patrol, U.S. Customs agent or a history teacher.
