Complimentary coffee and pastries were offered to EPCC students in the Welcome Back Café, a monthly event sponsored by Campus Life.
There was a need, according to Campus Life Representative Michelle Ruiz, to inform students on extra-curricular activities, including clubs at EPCC.
“We wanted to welcome back students and advertise events we are having within the year,” said Ruiz.
In order for students to receive the free coffee and pastries, they had to fill out a survey.
Students were tested on their
awareness of the different EPCC organizations.
In addition to the food and beverages, the Welcome Back Café featured Manuelazo, a band who performed their original songs.
The band included Manuel Contreras on lead vocals and guitar, Greg Perry on drums and Omar Lara on bass.
“After filling out the survey, I’m going to stay for the performance,” said Evelyn Frausto, senior EPCC student.
