The
Tejano's baseball team lost 3-of-4 to Pima Commuinity College in their
season-opening series at EPCC over the weekend.
After splitting Saturday’s doubleheader, the Tejanos were swept
on Sunday by scores of 6-1 and 10-7.
This year's team is led by first-year coach Shannon Hunt, who comes
to EPCC with 14 years of experience as an assistant coach.
The team had a good off-season with a record of 18-2.

"My
players have to play hard, play intelligent, and follow one rule -
always do what is right," said Hunt.
Hunt's goal is to encourage them to graduate and be better men. “He
brings a lot of intensity and team work," said catcher Josh Cordova.
"He taught us things that we never thought of and he knows what
he wants.”
"When I met coach Hunt it was really easy to relate to him, we’re
both real intense," said SS Hector Bernal.
Tejanas
lose 2 of 3
EPCC dropped it first two games of the season, 9-1 and 7-0 over the
weekend to the 2004 National champs, Pima Community College. The Tejanas
rallied to beat Gateway (Phoenix) CC 14-1. EPCC hosts defending National
champion, Central Arizona College, on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
