The Tejano's baseball team lost 3-of-4 to Pima Commuinity College in their season-opening series at EPCC over the weekend.
After splitting Saturday’s doubleheader, the Tejanos were swept on Sunday by scores of 6-1 and 10-7.

This year's team is led by first-year coach Shannon Hunt, who comes to EPCC with 14 years of experience as an assistant coach.
The team had a good off-season with a record of 18-2.

Tejanos assistant coach Mike Rhue looks on as Jesse Bustamante delivers a pitch against Pima Community College. EPCC lost three of the four games.

"My players have to play hard, play intelligent, and follow one rule - always do what is right," said Hunt.

Hunt's goal is to encourage them to graduate and be better men. “He brings a lot of intensity and team work," said catcher Josh Cordova. "He taught us things that we never thought of and he knows what he wants.”

"When I met coach Hunt it was really easy to relate to him, we’re both real intense," said SS Hector Bernal.

Tejanas lose 2 of 3
EPCC dropped it first two games of the season, 9-1 and 7-0 over the weekend to the 2004 National champs, Pima Community College. The Tejanas rallied to beat Gateway (Phoenix) CC 14-1. EPCC hosts defending National champion, Central Arizona College, on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
