Respectful Workplace

El Paso Community College faculty and staff are expected to maintain a civil working environment that ensures respect, dignity, equity and cooperation for all employees, students and visitors.  Opposing behavior will be considered unprofessional, disruptive to the workplace, and in conflict with the Mission and Goals of the College.  Conduct deemed to be unprofessional and/or disruptive will be reviewed on a case by case basis and administrative action taken as appropriate.

Examples of unprofessional conduct include:
  • Yelling
  • Swearing
  • Refusing to communicate
  • Rude speech
  • Condescending communication
  • Refusing to meet with supervisor
  • Ignoring
  • Name calling
  • Bullying
  • Gossip
  • Refusing to meet with subordinate employee

Questions or concerns regarding inappropriate actions may be referred to the employee’s supervisor or dean or the Employee Relations Department.
