All employees should be provided the opportunity to work in an environment which encourages and assists in the accomplishment of their assigned duties. Realizing circumstances may arise where an employee may find it difficult to carryout their responsibilities, the College offers a means to try to resolve resulting complaints or grievances. Specifically, the employee may seek assistance by referring to the policy and/or procedure most closely related to their particular situation for guidance in the process. The types of complaints addressed are:
Discrimination Complaints (Board Policy 3.43.01): a complaint based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, or other prohibited discrimination, including sexual harassment;
Complaints on Wages, Hours, or Working Conditions (Board Policy 3.43.02): grievances or complaints based on an employee’s wages, hours of work, or work conditions,
Processing Other Types of Complaints (Board Policy 3.43.03): concerns regarding a complaint not provided for in the other policies.

The grievance initiation forms are also found after each procedure. Questions regarding the use of policies/procedures may be directed to the Employee Relations Department.
