Tutorial Support Services: Scheduling an Orientation

One of the best ways instructors can encourage their students to take advantage of the Tutoring Centers is by scheduling an orientation where a tutor will take about 15 minutes to tell your class about what we do and don't do in the Writing and Math Centers.

By the end of the orientation, your students should:

• Understand that the Tutoring Centers are for everyone--we help students of all skill levels develop their talents.

• Know where we are and how to utilize our services.

• Have an opportunity to ask questions.

We invite you to have a tutor visit your class or bring your class to the Centers for an orientation. We usually schedule orientations during the first two weeks of the semester.

To schedule an orientation, e-mail Ivan Torres @ itorre25@epcc.edu, or call 831-2144 with the following information.

• Your name

• Your course name and number

• Date and time you would like the orientation

• Number of students in class

• Whether you'd like to bring your class to the Tutoring Centers or whether you'd like to have a tutor visit your class
