Instructional Television (ITV)

The course programs are broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays on KCOS Channel 13, and Time-Warner Cable Channel 14.

The programs can be recorded by students for viewing at a convenient time.

All student must attend a mandatory on-campus orientation session at the beginning of the semester.

Video Conferencing (VC)

Instructor teaches from one of the VC classrooms across the county.

Students also in one or more remote locations receive live class.

Instruction is delivered through live two-way audio and video.

Facilitators assist instructors by operating cameras and encouraging student participation.

Remote site students can ask questions of teacher in the other location and get live answers.

Online/Internet (OL)

Students use computers to access course online 24 hours/day; 7 days/week.

Textbooks also required; some courses require special edition with access code.

Assignments are submitted online.

Testing may or may not be online.

Blended Courses

Blended courses may be any combination of two distance modes of delivery.

Example: A lecture course that requires you to attend class ion campus 3 times/week may require you, in a blended format, to attend class on campus once per week, with the rest of the instruction delivered online.

You must attend the 1st day of class. Faculty provides an orientation to this blended process.

Dual Credit

College courses that might satisfy high school requirements.

Juniors and seniors eligible for program based on EPCC admissions criteria.

Instructional television, video conferencing, and online/internet courses available.

Virtual College of Texas (VCT)

Collaborative of the 50 community college districts and the Texas State Technical College System.

Students may register to take courses from other colleges throughout Texas.

Transcript of grades from local college.

Visit www.vct.org for additional information.

Example: Student can register to take a course through Tyler Community College, and recieve credit here at EPCC.
