Retention Action Program

 RAP

The Retention Action Program (RAP) addresses the necessary skills to succeed in Career Technical

Retention Action Program

Education studies.

RAP provides tutoring in the core curriculum in courses in the Career Technical Education fields of study. In addition, other areas are also covered: basic skills reading, writing, and math. RAP also introduces students to several learning strategies that can be applied to all courses across the curriculum.

RAP recognizes student concerns and needs for self-esteem, motivation, and goal setting.

RAP uses small groups for cooperative learning to facilitate the learning process, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills necessary for students to succeed.

Academic needs of limited English proficient occupational students are also met. Assistance is provided through oral English development, reading, writing, and math.
