Instructional Programs
Computer Aided Design (Drafting)

 Course Overview

The Computer Aided Design Program prepares individuals as design drafters and provides continuing education opportunities for those employed in drafting or related jobs. All drafting courses utilize Computer-Aided Drafting equipment.

Working under the supervision of a senior designer or an engineer, the drafting and design technician (sometimes called junior designer, designer trainee or drafter) prepares finished drawings from preliminary plans, engineering notes and/or sketches. He or she may also make corrections and changes on existing drawings, research vendor information and prepare detailed drawings and elevations from plans.
