Child Development

 Course Overview

The Child Development two-year program prepares students for positions in child care facilities. An Associate of Applied Science Degree is awarded upon completion of the program. Students who successfully complete the Child Development Associate Credential may apply for transfer credit of up to 24 (twenty-four) semester hours in the core curriculum of the Child Development Associate of Applied Science Degree Program. A Tech-Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate is available for students who have met the associate degree program competencies. A criminal background history check is required of all students in this program. Students should contact the Child Development faculty for more information. infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children, including children with special needs. Students must successfully complete the Child Development Core Curriculum plus the courses listed below.
