Medical Coding

 Medical Coding

As a medical coding specialist you would read and interpret patients' medical records in a doctor's office or a clinic. Learn the two most commonly used codes in the U.S. for medical records: ICD-9-CM and CPT (codes that are also used in claims for Medicaid and insurance payments).

Specialists can earn a good living and need to know basic medical terminology, physiology of the human body, basics of medical/dental reimbursement requirements and have basic computer skills.
