An employee in a regular status is issued a term employment contract and is hired in a long-term, full-time, institutionally-funded position which is anticipated to continue for more than one fiscal year.
An employee in a temporary status is hired in an “at-will” status and is normally employed in an institutionally-funded short-term position in a part-time job or in an externally-funded position. Temporary employees serve at the pleasure of the president and have no property interest in their employment with the College.
An employee who is hired for a specific external grant or contract-funded project. These grants/contracts may have stipulations regarding employment periods, workloads, leave time and other benefits that differ from normal College policies and procedures. An externally-funded employee should discuss the specific conditions of employment with their supervisor.
