Head Cross Country Coach
He enters his 14th season as the Head Coach for the Cross Country and Half Marathon programs. Hinojosa coached at Cathedral High School in El Paso from 1980-81 to 1984-
85. He was a part-time Strength and Conditioning Coach at UTEP from August 1985 to July 1988. He became a full-time Exercise Sport Science Instructor at EPCC in August 1989. He was named the head coach for Cross Country in April 2000.
He graduated from UTEP, earning a B.S. degree in Physical Education/Biology in 1981. He earned his M.S. degree in Exercise Physiology from UTEP in 1985.
In his 13 seasons, he has coached 24 NJCAA Cross Country and Half Marathon All-Americans and 3 NJCAA National Champions. In 2007, the women were the NCJAA National Champions for the Half Marathon.
He has had 13 top three team finishes:
Ist - 1
2nd - 5
3rd - 7
In addition, he has had 10 individuals recognized by the NJCAA for their academic achievements for having a GPA of 3.60 or better.
